If you are planning to attend the 2016 Wreaths Across America ceremony this year…here are the details.

The WAA Ceremony at the Prescott National Cemetery will be on 17 December 2016. The Ceremony will begin precisely at 10am and will happen regardless of what weather we are dealt. It has always been my opinion that our soldiers serve in the most deplorable conditions for us…the least we can do is stand for them on this day in whatever gets thrown at us. As such please dress warm, we have had it begin very nice and then have 12” of snow a few hours later. We will have a 10’X30’ Shelter up for attendees to get under if we have Snow or Rain. Along with the cover there will be Complimentary Coffee, Cocoa and Cookies available again to all in attendance to help keep everyone cozy.
Our parking at the cemetery is limited. Parking attendants will be posted to help guide everyone into the proper parking area, please follow their direction. We are hoping to have the small VA shuttle to help get folks from the bottom parking area up to the shelter. I highly recommend getting to the cemetery early, having a cup of coffee or cocoa and enjoying a few cookies.
As we do every year, after the ceremony all in attendance will again be invited to Honorably place a wreath upon our Veterans markers and Say their name.
This year we will have a young lady with a beautiful voice singing our National Anthem and The Choir from Granville Elementary will also be singing a special song in honor of our veterans.
We currently have 868 Sponsored Wreaths…still a little way from our goal of 1000. If you would like to Sponsor a Wreath for the 2016 Ceremony there is only 7 days left; as the last day to sponsor online is 28 November. Wreaths can be sponsored through one of the groups or directly to our location by clicking here: https://wreaths.fastport.com/donateLocation.html?page=14731
A map and directions to the Prescott National Cemetery along with our current Wreath count can be found on that WAA location page.
If you have any questions about WAA please do not hesitate to contact me. I thank you for your support and participation with Wreaths Across America and look forward to seeing you on 17 December 2016 to REMEMBER the fallen…HONOR their sacrifices and TEACH our younger generations about the cost of our freedoms.
